Bariatric Manikin 400lbs

The design of this 400lb bariatric manikin / dummy is to achieve a 'fluidity of movement' that would simulate an obese patient exactly and we believe that this has been achieved. This bariatric dummy is based around a standard 220lb 5ft 11inch General Purpose Dummy and the extra bulk is built up with several layers of weight and foam. Rather than just adding an 175 lb lump, we have distributed the weight around the body in 160 x 1.1 lb packets of steel shot, a very time consuming process! The weighted layers are all encased in 1/2 inch foam which in turn is covered fine Nylon, the foam layers are also covered in Nylon and this allows all the different layers to slip and slide over each other creating a real feeling of 'flabby skin'.
