The new body armor takes multiple hits without shattering, is lightweight for its price category and fits easily into standard body armor carriers. It is certified to meet to NIJ 2005 Interim level IV standards for bullet resistant body armor.

The DBA-IV armor is made of a triple-curve alumina-ceramic plate bonded inside an advanced thermoplastic composite cover and backing. It's the molded cover and backing as well as the interface bond that keep the plate intact and functional beyond first impact. The cover also traps shattered bullets so they don't ricochet to cause collateral casualties.

Both front and back plates are available, each approximately 10 x 12 inches to fit all standard tactical vests. The front plate weighs 7.5 lb; the back plate 7.9 lb. The plates are finished with a durable black outside layer.

PLATE CONSTRUCTION

The plate is manufactured utilizing advanced Thermoplastic Composite (TPC) Ballistic Materials in conjunction with a pre-shaped Alumina ceramic panel. Our company’s proprietary molding technology allows for a superior interface bonding between the ceramic and the composite, which translates into not only reliable ballistic performance but also an exceptional ability for the plate to maintain its integrity after being shot. This attribute permits the plate to maintain its ballistic performance beyond the first shot (multi-hit), which has been demonstrated in independent testing at certified testing facility. The plate is encapsulated in a durable black coating to protect from surface nicks and scratches.

Currently in F-Large (Front plate) and R-Large (Back plate)

DIMENSIONS

Overall dimensions are 11.8” x 10”. Front plate has deeper chamfered corners at the shoulders. (Variations of +-0.15” in each direction should be expected)

Triple curve shape has been developed and used for optimum fit to the human body.

STANDARD

The plate has been tested for performance and inspected for workmanship by the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center and has been certified to Threat Level IV based on National Institute of Justice 2005 Interim Requirements.

WARRANTY

Plate is covered by a two year warranty for workmanship and performance.
