ISC D4 Descender

The ISC (International Safety Components) D4 Descender is a promising heavy-duty belay double stop device with an auto-lock function that gets activated whenever the operator lets go of the handle, and a panic break designed to only lock out in free fall situations. This evolutionary development in the world of descenders, the D4 work/rescue descender is a true panic stop device rather than a panic brake device. It is designed to successfully control weight up to 240 kg (500 lbs) i.e. it is suitable for two-person rescue. Featuring sturdy and compact construction, the device gives the impression of a true industrial descender. The simple functional design of the D4 descender features side plates that closes with low-profile and a spring loaded safety catch. It is completed with two replaceable cams – a high grade aluminium and has a stainless steel cam, axles and top bobbin which should guarantee a good degree of longevity.

ISC D4 Descender features an exclusive and innovative progressive cam action that provide precise control at slow or fast speeds. The progressive cam works by way of one cam operating inside another cam. This device can be used for descending, as a belay device, lowering loads, and as a progress capture in a haul system.
