The tripod mount is provided for perfect image stability during longer periods of monitoring, however, they are light enough to be hand-held. These binoculars are best for border patrolling and airspace or airport monitoring. The unrivaled Steiner HD optics provides high performance in low light. The Sports-Auto Focus System allows focusing on distant moving objects from 20 yards to infinity in order to provide razor sharp images.
